【摘要】:Soilsamplespreparedforradionuclideanalysesbythispracticecanbeusedtomonitorfalloutdistributionfromnuclearfacilities.Thispracticeisintendedtoproduceahomogeneoussamplefromwhicharelativelysmallaliquot(10g)maybedrawnforradiochemicalanalyses.Mostnuclearfacilitiesfulfillmajorrequirementsoftheirmonitoringprogramsbygamma-rayspectrometrymeasurementsofsoil.Awidelyusedpracticeforthesemeasurementsistofillacalibratedsamplecontainer,suchasaMarinellibeaker(8764;600-mLvolume),withahomogenizedsoilsample.Bypreparingtheentiresoilcorecollection,sufficienthomogeneoussampleisavailableforradiochemicalandgamma-rayspectrometrymeasurements.1.1Thispracticecoversthepreparationofsurfacesoilsamplescollectedforchemicalanalysisofradionuclides,particularlyuraniumandplutonium.Thispracticedescribesoneacceptableapproachtothepreparationofsoilsamplesforradiochemicalanalysis.1.2Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.AspecifichazardstatementisgiveninNote1.
